Create a Facebook event for your next party or concert, and your friends can easily RSVP right on the site with just the click of their mouse. Intimate affairs should be labeled as private, so that no unwanted guests show up. Make your event public if you want to bring in as many people as possible. Public events will be accessible to anyone on Facebook and appear in search results.
Go to the Facebook homepage and click in the "What's the Event" field on the right side of the page. Type a name for your event.
Fill out the date and time fields, and provide a location in the "Where?" field. Invite friends by typing their names in the "Who's Invited?" field. Click on the icon of a lock immediately to the right of the "Add Details" link.
Select "Public".
Click "Create Event".
Change a private event to a public event by going to the event page and clicking the "Edit Event" icon. Click the box next to "Anyone can view and RSVP (public event)" and then click "Save Event."
